Numbered Heads Together
Numbered Heads Together is a cooperative learning strategy that is designed to promote both individual and group accountability.
How it works: Students are divided into small groups, and each member of the group is given a number. The teacher then poses a question to the whole class. The groups work together to come up with an answer. Students must make sure that each member of their group is prepared with the answer for every question because after a couple minutes the teacher will call out a random number. The student assigned that number will become the spokesperson who has to present their group's answer.
